BORDER PROTECTION SOLUTION

(MTDU) supports and help everyday work of Land Border Security Authority and any other public authorities may be engaged during abnormal events.

INTRODUCTION

The system performs continuous monitoring and surveillance for land borders providing early warning for potential intrusion threats, preventing their entry into the protected territories allowing the forces to intercept and capture the prospect intruders in a timely manner.

TYPES OF MTDU

Long range

MTDU detects and tracks vehicle sized object at a distance up to 32 km away from the land border line using radar and thermal camera

Medium range

MTDU detects and tracks vehicle sized object at a distance up to 10 km away from the land border line using thermal / day night camera

Short range

MTDU tracks targets up to 5km through the panoramic view , the target could be tracked in colour at night up to 3 km distance

The long range and medium range detection of MTDU detects and tracks vehicles and personnel before and during approaching the national land borders.

HIGHLIGHTS

(MTDU) is a one unit which has a wide range of mission capabilities with flexible, high-performance multi-sensor technologies, Including Radar, color night vision, 600 MP panoramic view with VCA detection and thermal tracking technologies.

MTDU boasts the following

  • 50 km Dual sensor Thermal/Optical day night PTZ Camera
  • 600 Megapixel 180 degree Long Range Real-time Panoramic Camera with VCA
  • Color Night Vision Camera
  • E-Scan Long Range Radar

Advanced Detection

Alarm Response system

MTDU provides detection alarms based on a seamlessly combined input from both Radar detection module and the panoramic view VCA module, in a way that keeps an overall low false alarm rate while avoiding false negative errors.

MTDU detects an object beyond the borderline using the radar and the panoramic VCA modules (according to predefined object-of-concern criteria) and automatically sends audible and visual alarms to the control room showing its location, speed, distance, size and direction on a map along with live stream video images.

The visual confirmation live streams for the detected object will be automatically provided to the control room using thermal, day/night, color night vision and panoramic modules according to the object distance from the land borderline.

Upon the visual confirmation of the detected target, the system operator shall be able to decide whether it is a potential threat (Target) or not.

Once the threat is confirmed a predefined alarm reporting algorithm shall be applied.

All alarms are showed on a software with a commercial or military digital map to be displayed with a visual image in the 180-degree panoramic view and separate zoomed-in windows. Meanwhile, the 360-degree tracking module auto tilting, panning, zooming and focusing to show greater detail allowing MTDU to keep the target tracked along its course of movement.

Upon receiving an alarm from MTDU the control initiates audible and visual notification and display the following:

MTDU boasts the following

  • 1
Alarm area map showing the exact location of the detected target along with target information Such as types, speed, size and direction.
  • 2
Large Panoramic View of the target area
  • 3
Panoramic View windows zoomed-in on targets
  • 4
    Multiple visual tracking views
  • 5
The nearest available patrolling unit with its current location

The control centre sends an alarm incident including real time target information provided with visual images in addition to any text instructions to all police posts clients and the nearest mobile patrol unit.
The control center receives an alarm receipt acknowledgement from the police posts and mobile patrol unit.
The mobile patrol unit which has received the alarm automatically pops up on the map with its real-time location.

Visual confirmation

Thermal module

Provides slue to cue function to Visually track the detected target using the thermal technology.
The module uses Medium Wave Infra-Red (MWIR) thermal imaging technique that employs the latest focal plane array technology to meet long-range surveillance and target identification requirements.

Panoramic Module

Large Panoramic View: the panoramic view gives the system ability to view, monitor and track multiple targets at the same time in addition to the ability to zoom in on covered area 180 degree width and 5 km depth in both live and recorded mode, thanks to the 600 MP ultra high-resolution imaging.
Panoramic View zoomed-in on target: It is a digital zoomed-in separate view extracted from the panoramic footage, shows a detailed image of the threat.

Day/Night Module

Day/ night Module provides view of day/night camera.
It incorporates a highly sensitive CMOS megapixel camera module combined with a powerful zoom lens to track targets up to 10KM

Color Night Vision Module

The system can view the target clearly with coloured fine detail at distance up to 3 km detection range.

C2 Integration

The Situational Awareness picture becomes fragmented without the benefit of data and sensor fusion and correlation to present a true picture from all information sources.

Virtual Fence
The C2 integration approach enables a virtual fence for border security through the application framework that integrates and fuses MTDU and intelligence into an intuitive real-time geo-referenced common operating picture coupled with automated threat prioritization, interrogation, and interdiction tasking. It will integrate other sensory and communications infrastructure and provide authorities the tools necessary to efficiently secure perimeters, land and sea borders, seaports, and harbors.

Detect-to-intercept
C2 system integration supports the detect-to-intercept process through MTDU Mechanisms using standard TCP/IP communications providing continuous track regardless of multiple detections.
Threats are prioritized and kept in focus for security operators and MTDU mounts by the expert advisory component that continuously evaluates targets of interest verses security business rules and the aggregation of intelligence from diverse sources.

Mobile patrol unit are integrated in to the real-time tactical picture via GPS enabled mobile tactical consoles. Mobile patrol unit situation awareness and tactical effectiveness is enhanced via mobile access to the common operating picture, alerts, and Command tasking events.
